For the 4 years I studied at uni, I was in a very similar situation. I got kicked out of my house in my first year at uni and was supporting myself by working but due to my age I was officially being supported by my mum so I did not receive any financial aid. My marks suffered but I thankfully finished and now I am very cynical about the system which exists here in Australia
