Right after surgery when he said, "We should go on more vacations" I cried like a big baby. I even made that wrinkly face where you start uttering a high pitched whining noise.

Oh God. The part where he's about to go into surgery and he sees his mom for the last time... That was the closest I've come to outright bawling in a long time.

Yup, that scene always gets the tears flowing. I can hold it in mostly until then, but at her grave I lose control.

What I find so amazing about that movie is that its so lighthearted for so long, really until Bubba dies. Then it gets pretty serious.

Animal movies are the worst. Dolphin movie? The dolphin gets mauled and raped by great white sharks. Horse movie? The horse trips and falls on its face during a race and breaks all four of its legs. Dog movie? The dog gets cancer and has to be put down in front of its 5 year old companion. Probably just gave out the plot for every future animal movie.

I read the book for a class in 5th grade and cried uncontrollably. When I saw the previews it seemed like such a happy kid's movie that I thought that the film makers must have made it a loose adaptation and left out the sad parts. Nope. Definitely not. After watching that film I ate my feelings for a solid few hours.

I prefer Wall E to Toy Story 3. Toy Story 3 seemed like it was deliberately made to be a tear jerker, but Wall E is a work of art that conveys a sense of love, sadness, and loneliness in such a subtle way. That scene where Wall E watches a scene where a couple hold hands... my god.

The emotional response and connection this movie can establish is incredible, especially considering how a large portion of the movie has no dialogue.

I wish the part of the movie where there was very little dialogue was A LOT longer. But I guess that wouldn't be entertaining to enough people for it to be worth it.

The end of Band of Brothers when Major Winters said in response to "Grandpa, are you a hero?" , Major Winters said "No, but the men I served with are."

I know it's not a movie but it was a great series. I watched the series about 2 months after Major Winters died and I was upset when I realized he lived 30 minutes from me :/

RIP Major.

Also, a lot of the vets from the movie live around the Erie , PA area, and I live closer to Lancaster. I'd love to meet them some time.

When the house is falling? That scene where they're having that conversation about the memory while they're having it is so cathartic in this really interesting way. It's that urge to be able to re-live and change a moment you regret from your past. When he says "I should've stayed" while he's walking out of the house is so heartbreaking to me. But when she says something along the lines of "then stay" it's really uplifting to me. It makes me feel that even though when your past is set in stone, you can always change the relationship you have with people.

Last one for me was Up. The beginning of the movie was so incredibly sad that I actually ended up kind of disliking the whole movie. I recognize that it's a good movie, but that beginning just completely destroyed me.

Last one before that was Big Fish. Onions, onions everywhere, at the end of that movie.

Actually it was a play, the UNB adaptation of Tuesdays with Morrie. Before that it was Steve Carrel's departure on The Office, which I know, is tv.

This movie seriously doesn't get enough love. It's been years since I've watched it but I've still seen it half a dozen times and can play most of it in my head. Not to mention those catchy songs.

I let myself cry in movies. I allow myself to be consumed by them, therefore maximising my entertainment value. A good film is a film that consumes me. Last film that made me cry was a Korean film called A Moment to Remember. I was high as a kite when I watched Toy Story 3, so I didn't cry but I tripped balls.

  • Forrest Gump, when the narration transitions from his telling his life story, to him standing by Jenny's grave, and saying "you died on a saturday, I had you buried here under our tree." then he starts crying and talking about how smart his son is. I cry just thinking about it. My brother has a learning disability so that movie always hits me deep down. I love him a lot. Also tom Hanks is brilliant.

  • In My Dog Skip, when his dog dies in the end, it makes me cry. I love dogs so much and was practically raised by my family pets when my parents got divorced and shit got rough. In a lot of ways I can connect with dogs better than I can with people, a dog has never lied to a person, hurt their feelings, or abandoned them on purpose.

  • In the movie deep impact, there is a scene where the astronauts have decided to crash their ship into the larger asteroid, sacrificing themselves to save humanity. They get to video chat with their loved ones before they die, and one astronaut's wife comes in with their son, who is holding a spaceship plush toy, and obviously doesn't understand what is going on, and the wife and husband talk cry as they say goodbye to each other. It is a very moving scene.

Male here. My time to shine.

Up Love Happens Pursuit Of Happyness Click Marley and Me Toy Story 3 Return of the King The Notebook (fuck you if you don't agree, that's a beautiful movie.) (Book) Somme Mud (I had to stop reading because I was in the bus and I was about a paragraph away from losing it.. As the quiet/angry type this would have spoiled my vain teen image.) That's all I can think of at the moment. I'm such a little bitch, it makes my wife laugh though.

Also the end of Ishi when he's scared that there will be no one to sing for him after he dies. Without someone to sing for him he won't be able to find the afterlife, so the Professor that worked with him sang for him.

I saw a movie that's called "In search of a midnight kiss"

I didn't cry during the movie, but I was sobbing outside in the rain later that night. The plot was about love that was doomed to not last, and I saw the movie with a girl who I had only gotten to be with for a month.

Along that same line, I also cried a lot when I saw "Ordinary People"

It was the same deal. I was crying mostly because it reflected what I was going through at the time (swimmer who is contemplating suicide)

[–]Sterculius 2 points3 points ago

I've never actually cried at a movie ever. But the one and only time I actually did start to tear up a little, was at the end of the first Ice Age movie when the human was so happy to get his son back.

It isn't exactly the "last movie" to do this (I think that was 50/50) but damnit if Cinderella Man didn't make me cry. The movie was about what it was like to be a dad. He didn't care what it would take to help his family, not even to the point that he was hurt. I gained a lot of respect for father types when watching that movie.
