I like using the inside of brown paper grocery bags. If you wrap carefully and neatly and add a nice ribbon and it looks very classy.

Yes! I opened this thread to say exactly this!

I like comics for kids and brown packing paper found in mailing supplies for adults.

I was without anything to used when my 8 yr. old handed me the aluimun foil . It was for a kid and we added some of those stars (for charts) in blue and red. What a hit it was!!! I don't think it would be frugal but it was a life saver.

Newspaper is an awesome gift wrap! Add a bright flower - real or plastic - or a length of colorful yarn or ribbon and you're good to go! Kid's gift? Use the sunday funnies. Another alternative is a cut-up paper grocery bag.

My mother has long been a recycler of gift wrap. Any gift bag or paper was carefully folded and saved. She even used to iron it! As a result, I have a wonderful trove of nifty vintage gift wrap, bags, and ribbon.

I do have some gold and blue ribbon (and even some green, I think?) to snazzy up the newspaper. I was also going to make a nice little clip on card. It's for a Father's Day gift. I know for a fact my Dad doesn't seem to care about wrapping paper/gift bags, but wonder if he won't just think I'm being cheap by recycling.

I stop through the asian part of town every so often to pick up some things for cheap. I buy bulk incense and the free newspapers in other languages are cool for wrapping gifts. It stores well, too.

We buy plain colored wrapping paper at christmas and use it throughout the year.

We also reuse gift bags.

I usually use Sunday comics. They're colorful, practically free, and fit most packages. Alternately, get a bunch after christmas when they're $1 a roll. Get plain red or blue. The last thing you want to do is wrap a birthday present in Christmas paper.

If I'm using a box for the present I cut out magazine photos based on the present and then glue them to the box to decorate it and make a collage. I just did this for my MIL who I sent a box of beauty products. So it was kind of easy to do the box

I love this idea!

I won't do this for Father's Day, but will keep this in the back of my mind for birthdays and such!

We buy wrapping paper at estate sales and also reuse the bags and tissue from gifts given to us previously.

My sister gets my nieces to draw pictures and uses it as gift wrap.

I usually use fabric and twine with a small related gift instead of a bow. I've used a vintage brooch (garage sale) a few honey straws, a flower, a toy car, a few lollipops or a small Christmas ornament. I generally get the fabric back.

I don't wrap gifts. In my family we use gift bags and we reuse those each year.
