it would be cool if you were right, but...

Martin gave us an entire prologue with the POV of Varamyr sixskins, almost exclusevely to show what happens when a warg dies. Then he killed Jon. I mean, he killed a major POV warg and explained what happens when a warg dies, in the same book.

I think everything points to Jon warging into Ghost, quite simply.

obviously it's not impossible, but seems like a very long shot.

His father was killed by his own sword Ice. Maybe Ice is Lightbringer in it's infant stage. Also, Melisendre is a red priest. What is to stop her from bringing him back like Dondarrion?

Ice is now in two pieces though, so I don't get where you're going with that.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if this is how Jon goes from his own body, to Ghost, then back to his.

someone above commented that Jon AND Dany are AA in two pieces. They would need TWO swords...

And they're called Widow's Wail and Oathkeeper, easily referring to Dany and Jon respectively.

That's pretty interesting. Never thought of that.

I personally don't think it will be this way, but the two swords would support the two AA's. My problem is Ice had significance to Jon, but not Dany in the slightest...

Dany is the blood of old Valyria, and it is Valyrian steel...not much given the number of Valyrian blades, but it's some kinda connection.

I find myself in agreement with you. Jon tries to keep his oath but he's constantly at odds with it, and Dany has/had a city to run with little time to grieve, so do the two really describe them?

In a world where your consciousness can enter a wolf and then re-enter your own body you have a hard time seeing how a sword that has been broken in two peices can be put back together?

No, I have had a hard time seeing why Ice was necessary when Longclaw is already at the wall. However, I did not know about he double AA theory, and now, this makes me think Ice will continue to play a role in the final books.

The original AA had to forge his sword by plunging it into the woman he loved, effectively tempering the sword with her blood . This is not a requirement for metallurgy or blacksmithing. This is a requirement for I can do whatever my imagination allows me.

Jon snow loves no one. Ygritte is dead, he doesn't know his mother so I'm pretty sure this is where the Ice theory comes from. Ice has already soaked his own families blood, the person who he was arguably the closest with.

Longclaw is just a sword. So unless in the span of 1 book he gets ressed and falls in love with someone while he is now a bloody mess of a zombie who is probably unable to speak thanks to the knife at his throat it is unlikely longclaw will play a part. He is going to have to be one charming zombie.

Just like to point out that Melisandre needs a kings blood and if Speculation then shes got her needs met. Not that she would know it. But maybe when he gets burned, certain stone dragons will awake?

I delight myself fancying that GRRM secretly reads reddit and all other ASOIAF forums to make sure he knows every fan made speculation just to leave us absolutely stunned with frustration with the total unexpected developments of the coming books.

I hadn't thought of him warging into Ghost. But it seems obvious now.

I thought it was clear that Daenerys was Azor Ahai.

I personally think the 'legend' is a little off and Dany and Jon together make AA.

  1. Melisandre saw him "first a man then a wolf then a man again."
  2. I think Aegon is the Mummer's Dragon.
  3. I think Snow goes into Ghost, then eventually jumps into Aegon.

My thought, even if Melisandre saves Jon, he will cease to be Lord Commander. He did break the vow. If thats the case, who'd you predict to replace him? Who, of the current rag tag group, could rise up? Or will a new caracter come to the wall and assume command?

[–]GrandPubis[S] 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't matter who replaces him. The wall will likely fall and everyone at the wall will likely die. I think that's what is being set up here, in order for whoever the dragons are to come and save the day in the north from the invading monsters.
