Can the Thunder come back from 3-1? (self.nba)
submitted 11 months ago by [deleted]
Can the Thunder do what no other team in the NBA has ever done and come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the championship?
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 11 months ago
The heat are at their best right now, they will win game 5
[–]Heatdndplosion913 6 points7 points8 points 11 months ago
Yes, until the series is over anything is possible. God forbid Lebron gets injured or something, or Durant gets his mojo back and goes insane in the next few games, who knows. Anything can happen.
No but really if Harden doesn't step up, no shot.

The Thunder have to win 3 in a row, including an away game, to win it all. The Heat have three chances to end it - they've shown they can win 3 in a row and they have their best shot Thursday. I hope they can clean it all up Thursday but I always expect disaster. Hopefully they can come out strong enough to demoralize an already deflated team.

of course. Their offense is amazing, and they've been able to put together double-digit leads nearly every game
[–]RaptorsxKillerDreag 5 points6 points7 points 11 months ago
I hope not, I really don't want to endure another year of retarded anti-Heat comments.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 months ago
Anything is possible but I seriously doubt it. All I know is James harden may be playing himself out of that max contract everyone thought was going to break up the team.

Yes, I don't care how much westbrook scores, I rather he play better defence. Harden and Durant have to be the main focus.
[–]Lakerssunsoutgunsout 1 point2 points3 points 11 months ago
No. There is no adjustment you can make this late in a series to come back from losing 3 straight games. Maybe they win game 5 but there's no way the Heat lose this series unless Miami and only Miami turns into a disaster and gives the next 3 games away.
[–]Trail Blazersmeekpest 4 points5 points6 points 11 months ago
I don't think it's likely, but if they can win game 5 and bring the final two games home, shits gonna get real interesting.
[–]Lakersmazer2308 2 points3 points4 points 11 months ago
Anything is possible. If OKC does win in Miami in game 5 then OKC has a got a chance. Although I'd like this to go to 7 games, I'm going to stick to Heat in 6. If Harden is no where to be found then we could be looking at a 5 game "sweep".

heat in 3!
[–]Lakerssayqueensbridge 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago
Its hard to count out the team that won 4 straight against the Spurs after being down 0-2.
[–]ThunderPaulyTrout 1 point2 points3 points 11 months ago
Still possible if they can win next one, okc doesn't lose much at home, and we did beat the unbeatable spurs 4 straight. Keep the faith

considering they were down 2-0 against the spurs who were on a 20+ win streak including the post season and still beat them in 6, it wouldn't surprise me.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago
we have better defenders, and a more athletic squad. plus some how brooks is more retarded then spoelstra this series.
[–]Maverickswafrhest 1 point2 points3 points 11 months ago
I originally picked the Heat in 6, with the Thunder taking game 1, the Heat taking games 2 and 3, the Thunder taking game 4, and the Heat taking games 5 and 6. Although the Heat won game 4, I can see the Thunder winning at least one more in this series in game 5 before being ousted by the Heat in game 6.

Honestly, I don't think so. Barring any injury to LeBron James, he won't let it happen. All the years of criticism. All the hate. And the fact that he hasn't had an outrageous performance yet this series. I wouldn't be surprised if Game 6 ECF LBJ shows up for the next game. It's his title to take and he knows it. The Finals are the Heats to take, you think LBJ doesn't recognize that?
[–]Knickspujuma 1 point2 points3 points 11 months ago
not with this horrendous 3-point shooting they have been doing (in the past 4 games at least)
[–]Heatjbonex 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago*
Just going to go ahead and say that no team can. No team will ever come back from a 3-1 deficit.
edit: In the NBA finals. 8 teams have come back in the playoffs being down 3-1.
[–]restless_vagabond 5 points6 points7 points 11 months ago
A few years ago there was a Yankees fan saying the same thing.
[–]Heatjbonex -1 points0 points1 point 11 months ago
That is baseball. This is NBA. Irrelevant.
[–]LakersAldovar 1 point2 points3 points 11 months ago
Make sure you add, "in the NBA Finals."
A few teams did fight back from a 1-3 deficit to win the series in previous years.

Not if the refs won't let them.
