Browns on the pity train?

[–]Seahawksneongames_kevin 27 points28 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

  • Bills - Losing 4 in a row is something no fan should go through
  • Lions - Mostly for their city and region than the team.
  • Browns - Probably best Fan Support vs. Team Quality ratio. Probably a lot of old Browns fans hanging on to see a victory before they die

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Halfway through Brandon Weeden's speech, the network cuts out to report massive amounts of deaths in Ohio blaming the Browns. However, it brings in millions of dollars to funeral homes which then invest their money and make Cleveland a new economic powerhouse. But then they're worse then Detroit and that guy has to take the video down.

Why not the Lions? At the very least, the Browns have had a history of success... the Lions don't even have that.

Bills/Browns/Vikes- heart break history (almost hilariously sad, but I always root for you guys as underdogs)

Jags- Would be hilarious and a big FU to the talking heads/haters (bring some love to a team that seems passed over by many)

Cardinals- Were a wonderful story on their Superbowl run, their dreams where dashed by the Steelers (but what a hell of a game)

Lions- World will end as we know it on that eve, as they take on the Steelers. Stafford bombs to Johnson for touch down with less than a min and a half on the clock. Rothisberger tries a remake of the last time they were at the big dance whilst running down the clock. However this time Super Stomper Suh crushes through the line and lays a devastating blow on Big Ben causing a fumble and Lions return it for a 55 yard TOUCHDOWN as the clock runs down to :00 to add insult to injury. APOCALYPSE.... Time for RoboCop.

[–]DolphinsPolarhyme 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Hey, I like to laugh away the pain. I embrace the wins, 1-15 was an orgasm after a long blue ball infused season. Let those others with their winning ways feel the pain when they forget what it is to lose.

My team knows how to lose, that's half the battle. So I lay and wait for the moment, yes... When they lose to the Dolphins. When they lose to a team with a pretty uniform. Then I laugh in victory!!

Don't worry someday.

Besides my team, after Tampa won a Superbowl, then seeing the Saints win, I would love to see the Lions at the big dance. Love seeing franchises turn around and Lions are a team that I've been saying for years to watch out for. They laughed at such thought, but seeing the success last year made me very happy .

Browns - The punching bag of today title will be removed.

Bills - Nobody knows loss harder than Buffalo. Would be an extra special moment for them to win the big one.

Texans - Always felt bad for the people of Houston when the Oilers moved to Tennessee.

Jaguars - One of few teams to never reach the big game (Texans, Browns and Lions). They are mostly ignored by the media, so a run to the superbowl could give them the attention they deserve.

Redskins - I think it would be awesome to see the Redskins back in the saddle again, winning the NFC East... and more.

Panthers - Superbowl XXXVIII was sad. Give 'em another shot at the title!

Seahawks - I like birds. I like Marshawn Lynch. I felt bad for them for XL. I fell in love with them in 2010. I like birds.

Cardinals - Fitzgerald is awesome. I followed their run to the superbowl a few years back almost obsessively. I was so sad to see them lose...

Personally, I would like to see Ed Reed win a Super Bowl. I feel weird even typing that it wouldn't piss me off to no end to see the Ravens win one, but honestly if for some reason I could never watch another Steelers game and couldn't be a fan of them, I'd probably like the Ravens the most. I enjoy the way they play the game, and the approach their team and coach take. Plus, it's going to be kind of sad if Ed Reed never gets to experience winning a Super Bowl, because that dude is so amazing and fun to watch play. Of course, I would always want the Steelers to beat them. This past year though, once we lost, I was hoping you guys would win one. Granted, I know far too many people from Baltimore and would have to turn my phone off for a week, but God knows I deserve some pay back for the times I've called them.

Cards - Fitz needs a ring! Eagles - No idea why I have liked them for so many years, but it is what it is.

No AFC team makes this list because that means that my team wouldn't make it.

49ers: Sure, they've had their fair share of Super Bowls, but they've sucked dick since the Jeff Garcia days--and a ton of their fans can't even remember before that. Harbaugh is God, and I'd love to see him take his team to a SB in his second year.

Lions: I love a ton of their players, and it is about goddamn time they got to a SB.

Dolphins: I'd like to see Garrard/Moore get a little respect. I love Reggie's comeback story. Team has had serious issues since Marino left.

The Bears. I root for them in the NFC, they are my second team, I have friends who are fans so I started following them a while back.

Above them though, the Browns... I can't think of a fanbase that deserves a big win more.

Oakland because the reaction of their insane fans would be hilarious.

Oh and the Giants have earned a place in my heart because I really hate the Patriots.

Texans- Andre deserves a ring Bills- It is about time they become relevant for more then half a season. Seahawk- New uniforms Vikings-Brett Favre that whys Browns- I get free tickets to Brown games Jags- They got a punter and it is the year of the kicker

Browns - Pity train Texans - They've never been to the Super Bowl before Jags - same as above. Jets - So Tim Tebow can get a ring Redskins - because I think RG3 is better than Luck and I just want the Media to finally agree.

I like seeing old teams that have never won one finally get one. This year if my team doesn't make it, I'm hoping for Vikings or Eagles.

I always root for the Giants if they're not playing the Eagles. Though I'm probably the least confrontational sports fan in the US.

It wouldn't surprise me. Though honestly, as a kid I went to several games at the Vet and my dad wore his Giants hat and shirt and never had any trouble aside from a bit of good-natured stuff, so I really think the whole thing is blown out of proportion.

Eagles (yes, damn it, I said Eagles)

as a Giants fan (going by your flair) how can you possibly say this? You must not live anywhere near philly, because as good as the Giants ever are not a single philly fan I know will ever give them props.

They deserve to languish in no championship pergatory for as long as they possibly can

[–]EaglesDizzle1218 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I am glad you feel that way. Its a weird feeling but I hate it when Giants and Cowboy fans are friendly and neutral to us. It evades the point of rivalries. RG3's don't count.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Meh, fans come and go. I've seen many bandwagon fans since I've started watching sports back in 1985/86. I like seeing happy athletes and proud organizations.

So if my team's rivals get to win a championship, I'll be happy for them and won't lose any sleep. Just as long as they don't trounce us to get there.

I'd like to see the Texans win. Arian Foster and Andre Johnson are two of my favorite players, plus I still like Wade Phillips. Plus, it'd be nice to get a great NFL Texas rivalry going.

[–]Cowboysgoldberg1303 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I like the Texans. I'd love to see the franchise do well for years to come. I really really want the Cowboys to win another Ring before the Texans get theirs though. It was mildly annoying this past season listening to Texans fans rub it in that they had a better team than the Cowboys for the first time in their franchise's history, but in a cute little brother kind of way. I don't want to deal with their ego's if they win a Super Bowl sooner than we get another one.

That might make me a dick. Petty even. I don't care. This is sports dammit, grown men are supposed to be irrational when it comes to rooting for their favorite teams.

The Bills.

Too many second place finishes. They need to take one all the way home. Their fans have seemingly stuck with them through years of disappointment, and mediocrity. A ring would serve them well.

This is my non-browns answer, of course.

  • 49ers - Have always liked SF sports teams
  • Packers - Even though they recently won, I like the way their team is built.
  • Seattle - Seattle sports fans need something to be happy about

And Saints would have been on there if you asked before this offseason

Seahawks. They're turning into that once-normal girl who got left unexpectedly at the altar and now has 30 cats and does "It's just lunch" 5 days a week, but scares everyone away by constantly talking about her ex leaving her at the altar.

The Baltimore Ravens--They're the second team I root for. Ray Rice, Joe Flacco's mustache, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed are all players/facial hairstyles I think deserve a SB ring.

The Cleveland Browns/Orange Helmeted Sportsmen of America--Just so much sadness there..I think the Browns winning a ring would eliminate anything LeBron ever promised them.

The Detroit Lions--Their rivalry with Dallas used to be awesome. Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford are awesome players and their team color (light blue) relaxes me.

My boyfriend has been reading this thread to me, and he is getting sad because of the lack of Panthers love. Anyone have some Panther love? Or at least Cam, Smith, Kalil, or Gross love?

Also, I root for the Ravens because I routinely get Panthers tickets that are behind the opposing teams bench, so I meet a lot of hard core fans from the other teams. The Ravens fans I met were by far the most knowledgeable and fun fans I have ever sat next to.

I would love to see either the Cards or the Lions win the Super Bowl.

I'm a big fan of Matthew Stafford and would love to see him and Megatron getting a Super Bowl ring. Also that offense is so much fun to watch I think one day soon they'll be in the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals I want to see win because I love Larry Fitzgerald, I think he is one of the nicest dudes in the league with a crazy good work ethic and passion for the game. Plus he's put up some of the best post season numbers ever and I want to see him back in the playoffs because guys who play better in the playoffs are the type of guys who should get Super Bowl rings.

Bills-just picked up player from my old high school (Delano Howell) Dolphins-Matt Moore went to my old high school Raiders-Kyle Boller went to my old high school.

I'm really just a football fan in general. Enjoy watching the Saints cause I loved Reggie Bush when he went there. But I'd really just like to see the guys I see around town and used to throw the ball around with do well

TL;DR: My old high school's players get sent to the WORST teams.
