This is the mess that I am tasked with cleaning, labeling and managing.

To give you an idea what Im working with:

6 Racks Containing:

2 KVM Switches

2 ASA 5510s

2 Catalyst Switches

3 Proliant Racks

2 Blade Servers

Among that, I need to reconfig fiber channel connections, a Barracuda Content Filter and a some other things I haven't even been briefed on yet.

Wish me patience and sanity!

We have two racks at opposite sides of our server room. One we ran out of patch space and the other we ran out of switch space. I'd assume you can guess how my boss decided to add new runs.

Not much help in your situation, but I do remember a Brit drama/comedy show about a guy running an ameture radio station in a mental hospital.

FOUND IT! Takin' Over The Asylum, staring a very young David Tennant.

Most of the regular cast were in the mental ward for various different reasons. One of them was OCD.

When the main guy came to the radio room, it was a mess. Records everywhere etc.

Another guy let the OCD woman into the radio room one night, and by the next day it was all clean and all the records organised alphabetically.

Find someone like that, and your cables will be organised in no time
