Gonna pass one month at Toronto, how's the nightlife? (self.toronto)

Hi, ''Torontois'', I'm a Montrealer who's gonna pass with 2 friends 1 month at Toronto's Glendon University for a bilingual exchange, to perfect my english, under the program EXPLORE. I was wondering, as this is my first time in the city with my friends, what are the notable streets and places for the nightlife in your city?

Top 40s, hip hop, and some house with a younger crowd: Entertainment district and Richmond Street (Spadina and University)

More mature crowd: King Street West (Bathurst and Spadina)

More hipster/indie dance scene: Queen Street West (around Dufferin and Ossington)

Last call is 2am and clubs usually clear out between 2:30am to 3:00 unless you're at Footwork, Comfort Zone, or the Guvernment.

No, I'm being serious. These are the best spots in the city for any late night house lover. Just know what you're getting into at CZ lol

Honestly grab a now magazine and find a party that interests you. All the Toronto kids go to parties in different locations.

I recommend: Queen St. W Ossington St.

NOW magazine will definitely let you know what's going on. The nightlife is pretty good here.

I used to be a huge fan of The Social on Monday - I always liked the music. Though I don't know if it still has the intensity it had 3 years ago, I don't go as often. One of my exes is a hipster and we would go with her friends (I stuck out like a sore thumb).

Despite this, I still go to Reposado and Sweaty Betty's.

Social is done, those guys opened up Parts & Labour which is a combo restaurant/event space which is pretty good still. They also opened up the Hoxton on king which is a popular spot. Both worth checking out!

Thats at Bayview-Lawrence (near my house).

Important stuff: Nearest beer store (you are going to hate how alcohol laws work in Ontario) is at Bayview and Eglinton closes at 9 everyday and 5 on Sundays.

Closest convenient LCBO (comme le SAQ) is at Yonge and Eglinton.

The 11 bus is convenient, but really unreliable. Itll take you to the beer store. The last one is around 1:30 am.

There are a few decent bars near Bayview-Eglinton: Original's, McSorely's on Bayview come to mind.

Main thing: Going downtown is a bit of a hassle, but coming back after a night out is horrible by transit, so make friends downtown.

Good bands (generally) at Cameron House, Orbit Room, Dakota Tavern, Rex Hotel, Silver Dollar Room. Cameron has sign behind bar that says "This is paradise". Good drinks at Ted's Collision, Cadillac Lounge, Mezzrow's, Sneaky Dee's, Ronnie's, Stout, Rhino and The Only.

Glendon is far removed from everything. Luckily for you, the Bayview bus is an all-night route.

And as far as I know, there are no Blue Night routes along Bayview.

There's the infamous nightclub district (Adelaide, John, etc) but the action has been spreading out to the burbs. We also have a decent salsa scene. Check out nowtoronto.com for starters

If you're able to travel by car, try out Luxy near Highway 7 and 400 in Vaughan (AMC plaza).

Otherwise anything in the area of King, Bathurst, Queen, University.

best clubs for dancing are on Queen West: Wrongbar, the Social, Drake Hotel underground. Cameron House is good too. check out the Rex for live jazz and blues.

King Street West .. trendy restaurants and clubs. Queen Street West .. lots of bars and lounges. Dundas Street West .. hipsterville. Pretty much all you need to know.
