I come from a tiny town on the north shore of Lake Superior. It's very redneck hippie up there and there's a lot of bars way out in the woods. One night we're partying it up at this one probably 30 miles from any town with more than 50 people and in walks Niel Young. I guess for a while he was traveling around to places like this and doing surprise free shows. It was definitely the coolest thing that ever happened to a lot of those rough necks.

This self righteous, misguided patriotism is no different than the extreme fundamentalism that breeds the terrorism you speak of. Both views want to paint the world as black and white, both want to see diversity as a bad thing and both assume that they somehow have a monopoly on morality.
